Hardener AEP (Aminoethylpiperazine)

Highly used industrial epoxy hardener.

AEP curing agent is an unmodified aliphatic amine. These amines are used in a variety of epoxy systems. Due to their tendency to form complexes with atmospheric carbon dioxide, specially in humid conditions, they are most often formulated, adducted or otherwise reacted to inhibit amine blush. As members of the ethylene amine family, they can create a wide variety of chemical reactions and enduse applications.

•   Epoxy curing agents
•   Corrosion inhibitor formulations
•   Fast curing epoxy products
•   Adhesive epoxy systems
•   Wet strength resins
•   Coal tar coating
•   High temperature epoxy coatings
•   Epoxy aluminum, carbon fiber adhesive
•   Room temperature coatings
•   Aluminum-filled epoxy systems

Hardener AEP should be kept in tightly closed containers in a cool, dry place.
They will absorb moisture and carbon dioxide which will react. Avoid contamination with galvanized iron, copper, and its alloys.

Also used in:

Composite applications
Systems for tooling, casting and molding applications
Low VOC, very high solids
Boat manufacture, marine coatings
Encapsulations (electrical-electronic) and laminates
Molding, Casting, spraying or brushing, pressure laminating, pultrusion
